Danilo: “I Prefer Winning to Playing Well. On Ancelotti…”

Danilo, the former captain of Juventus, recently spoke with Romario TV, offering insights into his perspective on football results and performance. He addressed the common sentiment when a team wins but is perceived to have played poorly. “When people say things like, `Oh, Brazil won 2-0, but they played badly,` or `Brazil isn`t playing well`… Look, first off, I personally want to play well, everyone wants to play well, you don`t want to struggle,” Danilo stated. “But if I have to choose between not winning but playing good football, or winning while playing poorly, I absolutely prefer to win. That`s just how I am.”

Discussing the influence of a coach, Danilo specifically mentioned Carlo Ancelotti. “Having a figure like Ancelotti definitely provides more support and commands more respect,” he commented. Danilo believes that “there will be pressure on Ancelotti to get results, and perhaps that will take some pressure off the players.” However, he also emphasized the players` own responsibility: “But we, as players, also need to step up and say, `Hold on, the coach is important, but we need to find a solution ourselves, because the coach has changed several times, and things still haven`t gotten better`.”
