“The change is a trick by the management to save themselves,” Tony Damascelli comments in Il Giornale, regarding the changes at Juventus, following the dismissal of Thiago Motta and the appointment of Igor Tudor as the Bianconeri`s coach. “But it`s easy to imagine what a terrible Sunday John Elkann and his orchestra experienced,” the article begins, also referencing Ferrari`s double disqualification.
“For over a month,” the piece continues, “Motta has heard the rumors: dismissed, postponed, delegitimized, but he never changed that somewhat peculiar face, that somewhat peculiar expression of those who go to Continassa. He was ousted, but he himself never truly entered in,” reads the article, referring to Juventus` regrets regarding Massimiliano Allegri.
“Motta dismissed by a phantom company where everyone does nothing and manages to do little, making mistakes in the market, not finding a shred of a sponsor, being absent, out of modesty, in political decisions: the end of a story and a family,” Damascelli attacks. He concludes: “They report that Giuntoli would have said to Motta: «I am ashamed to have chosen you» (a phrase then skillfully removed from circulation), it would be more dignified to leave together with the object-subject of shame. John Elkann should take a cue from this, those who have made mistakes cannot get away with it, they must be set aside.”
