Conte: “Our Goal Was to Be a Nuisance, and We Are Being a Nuisance”

`Antonio

Antonio Conte spoke to DAZN about Napoli`s victory over Empoli. He said: “Today we played an excellent match; Empoli makes it difficult for everyone. I`m surprised they are fighting against relegation, and I wish them the best for survival, starting with my friend Roberto (D`Aversa, coach of Empoli). We played a really good game, despite several absences, including Buongiorno, Anguissa, and Di Lorenzo being out for the first time. The team is responding well after facing various difficulties. With a great second half, we also answered those who claimed we fade in the second half, dispelling any mental doubts about our physical endurance.”

The team has improved significantly. Recently, I rewatched our away victory against Empoli from earlier in the season, and the improvement is extraordinary. We were a distant relative of who we are today. We won a tough, scrappy game back then. Now, we are more mature, playing well despite the major emergency we are dealing with. We are right there, 3 points behind Inter, achieving something unthinkable. Our goal was to be a nuisance, and we are being a nuisance. The media and newspapers should thank us for keeping this league alive, which otherwise would have already been decided,” he stated.
