Como president Mirwan Suwarso, who recently returned to Milan after spending time in London, reaffirmed the Larian club`s commitment to keeping Cesc Fabregas. When asked about any new developments regarding Fabregas, Suwarso stated, “Nothing new.” Clarifying the situation with Inter Milan, he added, “Nothing happened; they requested permission to negotiate, and we said no.”
Asked if Fabregas would remain their coach for the next season, Suwarso concluded, “Yes, we hope so.”
Earlier in the day, Suwarso had already provided a clear explanation of the situation concerning Fabregas: “We communicated our refusal directly to the president of Inter, who acknowledged it with the courtesy and clarity expected between clubs that have mutual respect. For this reason, we consider persistent rumors about their interest in our coach as pure fantasy – it`s highly unlikely anyone would insist after such a straightforward answer, especially a club of Inter`s standing.”
