Champions League Sprint: Crucial Away Trips Await Juve as Roma Closes In

With only four matchdays remaining in Serie A, it’s crunch time for Juventus. Every point is now incredibly significant, and the Bianconeri are under pressure to secure their spot in the next Champions League.

The `Old Lady` currently occupies fourth place but must remain vigilant as rivals are hot on their heels. Six teams are vying for the remaining two Champions League berths: Juventus, Bologna, Roma, Lazio, Atalanta, and Fiorentina.

The upcoming two away fixtures will be pivotal. These are direct clashes against Bologna and Lazio. Earning at least four points from these two games would provide a decisive boost. Should they then secure six points by winning against Udinese and Venezia in the final two matchdays, Juve would reach 72 points, theoretically ensuring their safety from their competitors.

However, a challenging scenario looms: if Roma were to win all four of their remaining matches, they too would reach 72 points. In such a case, goal difference would determine the final standings. Currently, Juventus holds a narrow advantage of just three goals over Roma – a slim and far from comfortable margin.

Despite this, Roma faces a demanding schedule themselves. They are set to host Fiorentina and Milan at the Stadio Olimpico and must travel to Bergamo to face Atalanta.

Ultimately, Juventus’s primary focus must be on their own performance. Yet, they must do so with the understanding that even achieving ten points from the remaining games might not guarantee Champions League qualification with absolute certainty. Now, more than ever, errors are simply not an option.
