Former Fiorentina president Vittorio Cecchi Gori shared his views on Moise Kean and the role of coaches during an interview with Radio Firenze Viola.
He commented that a coach`s influence isn`t the sole decisive factor; it heavily depends on the players themselves and the effectiveness of player recruitment. He highlighted Napoli`s potential Scudetto victory as an example, attributing previous success to Antonio Conte`s skill in selecting his squad.
Cecchi Gori confessed his long-standing admiration for Kean, stating he would have acquired the player sooner if he had the opportunity.
He expressed astonishment at Juventus`s handling or perception of Kean, as he believed it was abundantly clear for a considerable time that the player was destined for success and would “explode” onto the scene.
According to Cecchi Gori`s assessment, Moise Kean might currently hold the title of the best center-forward in Italy.
He also emphasized the significance of the relationship between the club president and individual players, noting that players require satisfaction and attention.
Cecchi Gori strongly advised Juventus to keep Kean at all costs, especially given his roots in the club`s academy, arguing that a club like Fiorentina (or any other) would struggle immensely to find another striker of his caliber.
