Caressa: “Inter Doesn’t Have Two Teams As They Say”

Fabio Caressa discussing Inter

Sky Sport journalist, Fabio Caressa, shared his assessment of Inter`s current form during his appearance on Deejay Football Club.

Caressa dismissed the notion of fatigue being the main issue, calling it a common cliché. According to him, factors like the average age of the squad and subsequent injuries play a more significant role. He also agreed with a previous point made by Bergomi, suggesting that the overall depth of Inter`s squad might be somewhat overrated.

He highlighted the limited impact from some players, citing Taremi, Correa (who contributed little), Arnautovic (who scored but overall impact was questionable), and even Frattesi, whose contribution has been inconsistent (“so so”).

“Inter doesn`t have two equally strong teams as people claim,” stated Caressa. He added that while Bergomi`s view initially seemed drastic, it proved to be insightful in retrospect.

Caressa pointed to key statistics differentiating this season from the last: the number of goals conceded in the final 10 minutes has increased significantly from 3 last year to 11 this year. Similarly, the times they conceded the first goal jumped from 2 (plus 2 after securing the Scudetto) last season to 10 times this season. These figures, he argued, are significant indicators of the difference in performance between the two seasons.
