Former football referee Gianpaolo Calvarese has shared his analysis regarding Masina`s disallowed goal during the Torino-Inter match via a post on his Instagram profile. Calvarese highlighted that the contact leading to the annulment of Masina`s goal, specifically between Masina and Asllani, bore a strong resemblance to the interaction seen between Zaccagni and Gatti in the Lazio-Juventus fixture.
According to Calvarese`s assessment, the contact between Masina and Asllani was excessively light and appeared more consistent with a standard physical challenge permissible during play. He concluded that referee Federico LaPenna would have been correct to allow the goal, drawing a parallel to the outcome of the similar incident at the Olimpico stadium where play was permitted to continue.
