BVB Prepares Transfer Coup: German Shooting Star Eyed as Potential Guirassy Successor

Borussia Dortmund is reportedly intensifying its search for a successor to Serhou Guirassy. According to reports, BVB has shown interest in Nicolo Tresoldi. The 21-year-old plans to move to a Champions League club this summer.

Tresoldi’s representatives, currently playing for Club Brugge, are already in talks with clubs from Spain, Italy, and Germany. In addition to Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen is also said to be interested, though only if Christian Kofane departs. From the Premier League, Arsenal and Tottenham are linked with Tresoldi.

The German U21 international could be available for a transfer fee of 25 to 30 million euros. This amount would be feasible for BVB if Serhou Guirassy were to leave the club, as his departure would generate at least 35 million euros for Dortmund.

Is Serhou Guirassy’s Departure Imminent This Summer?

The 30-year-old Guinean’s release clause is reportedly set at this figure, but is said to apply only to European top clubs like Real Madrid or Manchester United. No concrete interest from these clubs is known yet, but AC Milan and Tottenham have reportedly shown interest. Guirassy’s agent is also said to have offered him to financially strong clubs in Saudi Arabia. In these scenarios, BVB, where Guirassy is under contract until 2028, could freely negotiate a transfer fee. Guirassy is expected to make a decision about his future only after the end of the season.

Tresoldi’s Stellar Season: Are Other National Teams Luring Him?

Tresoldi is having the best season of his young career. He moved from Hannover 96 to Club Brugge last summer, signed a contract until 2029, and immediately impressed. In 48 competitive matches, he has scored 14 goals and provided five assists, gaining Champions League experience (3 goals in 10 games). His strong performances are attracting not only top clubs but also national football federations.

Although he has played for all German youth national teams since U19, he has not yet made a senior international appearance. Consequently, Argentina and Italy are reportedly interested; Tresoldi was born in Cagliari and has an Argentine mother. However, his priority is still said to be a national team career for Germany. For the German U21 squad, Tresoldi is a key player, having scored six goals in six European Championship qualification matches, including a brace against Northern Ireland recently.
