BVB News and Rumors: Following Controversial Statements, Borussia Dortmund’s Suspicions About Nico Schlotterbeck Emerge

Borussia Dortmund reportedly suspects a specific reason behind Nico Schlotterbeck’s recent outspoken comments. Furthermore, a report reveals the club’s potential transfer budget. Here are the latest news and rumors surrounding BVB.

BVB Rumor: New Details on Nico Schlotterbeck

Nico Schlotterbeck recently, while on international duty, emphatically denied an imminent contract extension with Borussia Dortmund. Now, a report from a media group states that the current international break was never agreed upon by either party as a firm deadline for a decision during their ongoing discussions.

Schlotterbeck and his management have reportedly agreed upon a specific timeframe with BVB officials. However, this timeframe appears to still be some way off.

From the club’s perspective, the change in sporting director from Sebastian Kehl to Ole Book, which Schlotterbeck cited as a reason for his hesitation, should not impact the agreed-upon timeline. Nor does it seem to imply that negotiations need to restart from scratch.

Internally, it is rather suspected that Schlotterbeck is merely using the reference to the change in sporting director as a pretext to gain more time for reflection. Furthermore, the club has no plans to withdraw the offer, as discussions are still proceeding within the agreed timeframe.

BVB Rumor: Report Reveals Budget for Dortmund Signings

Should Borussia Dortmund not sell any players next summer, the club will have a transfer budget of 25 million euros, according to a sports publication.

Karim Adeyemi is reportedly the most likely candidate for a sale. Although he was offered a contract extension, the mood within the club has supposedly shifted. In recent internal discussions, the view that Adeyemi is replaceable from a sporting perspective has increasingly gained traction.

Adeyemi himself has shown little inclination to extend his contract so far, aiming for a move to the Premier League. Given his current contract situation, his transfer fee could reportedly reach around 50 million euros.
