Budoni: Tudor’s Constant Team Changes Pose a Risk

Former professional footballer Riccardo Budoni recently appeared on TMW Radio`s “Maracanà” program to discuss various topics in Italian football.

When asked about the possibility of striker Edin Dzeko joining Fiorentina, Budoni described him as a quality player, effective both inside the box and in link-up play. However, he noted Dzeko`s age and highlighted the importance of assessing his motivation should the move happen.

Discussing Lazio, Budoni touched upon Maurizio Sarri`s recent comments and the potential return of Angelo Peruzzi. Budoni believes Peruzzi, who previously acted as a liaison between the club, coach, and players, left reluctantly, possibly due to personality clashes. He hopes to see Peruzzi back at the club. Regarding Sarri, Budoni`s main concern is the coach`s ability to resolve the team`s psychological issues, although he feels more positive now that certain challenging players are no longer present. He stressed that building a team takes time and frequent changes are detrimental. On the player Tavares, Budoni emphasized the need for team integration, stating that even talented individuals can become isolated if their attitude doesn`t fit with the group, which explains Sarri`s desire to thoroughly assess him.

Considering coaches Juric, Tudor, Chivu, and Gattuso, Budoni was asked who faces the most risk next season. He singled out Igor Tudor, explaining that Tudor`s history of changing clubs every single year is a major factor. Budoni suggested this pattern indicates either Tudor struggles to accept certain club rules or clubs frequently encounter problems with him.
