Bournemouth Coach Iraola: “You Never Want to Lose a Player Like Huijsen”

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola commented on the transfer of Dean Huijsen, formerly with Juventus and Roma, to Real Madrid.

“You would never want to lose a player of that kind,” Iraola stated. “He was excellent for us. On the other hand, we are truly happy for him as he is moving to Real Madrid. I believe that`s what he truly wanted to do, and we wish him all the best after he plays these last two games for us.”

He continued, “I have no doubt that he is ready for this step up. Real Madrid is probably the most important club in the world, or one of the most important, but I believe he has the footballing level, maturity, and self-confidence to go there and perform at his best.”

Iraola added, “He will face strong competition, but I have great faith in him and I think he will do well at Real Madrid. For a guy who is only 20, I think he has handled the situation remarkably well. I haven`t seen anything different in training. He is pushing, he is ready to play these last two matches.”

“The possibility of this happening was there, and now the club has time to prepare for next season in the market,” he concluded.
