Borussia Dortmund Ready to Offer Promising Talent a Long-Term Contract

Borussia Dortmund is actively working on securing the future of Samuele Inacio, with concrete plans reportedly in place. According to Bild, the club is preparing to present the young attacking talent with a new professional contract that would keep the 18-year-old at the club until 2030.

This move signifies Borussia Dortmund’s intention to retain control over the player’s future, especially considering his current contract is set to expire next year. The proposed extension is also expected to come with a significant salary increase for Inacio, who currently earns around €150,000 annually.

This approach aligns with Borussia Dortmund’s established strategy of identifying, developing, and securing promising talents on long-term deals before their market value escalates.

The club’s confidence in Inacio is further bolstered by his recent impressive performances. Head coach Niko Kovac has increasingly relied on the attacker, featuring him four times since late February. A notable highlight was his first start in the convincing 4-0 victory against SC Freiburg, where Inacio seized the opportunity to impress.

Kovac and Beier Rave About Inacio

The positive reactions were immediate. After the match, Kovac expressed his satisfaction to DAZN, stating: «The kid had a great debut today. He did really well. This boy will bring us joy. He is a huge talent.» These words underscore Inacio’s growing importance within the club.

Teammate Maximilian Beier also praised the young colleague, remarking: «He had a very good game today, and he should enjoy the day. He is a talented boy with a brutal dribbling ability. He should just do what he wants on the pitch. He’s so good, you just have to let him play.»

Inacio Joined Dortmund in 2024

Inacio moved to Dortmund from Atalanta Bergamo’s youth academy in 2024. Football runs in his family, with both his father and uncle having played in Italy’s top league. In late March, he also reached another milestone by debuting for the Italian U19 national team.
