Following Bologna`s defeat against Milan, a result that hinders their push for European qualification, manager Vincenzo Italiano shared his thoughts with Sky.
He identified a crucial factor in the match: “The key difference in the game was the substitutions made by us compared to theirs. Usually, our changes also have an impact, but tonight it was the opponent`s substitutions that made the difference. We were fully engaged in the match, even creating opportunities for a second goal, but then we experienced a fifteen-minute `blackout,` which absolutely should not have happened.”
Italiano elaborated on his intentions, stating, “I had hoped to inject energy with the new players and intended to maintain the positive momentum we had built up to that point. It`s disappointing that we couldn`t manage it. We will need to analyze this thoroughly because a different approach will be necessary for Wednesday`s match. Players coming into the game in the remaining minutes must perform at their usual level; we weren`t able to do that today.”
