Bisseck’s Transformation: From Past Errors to Key Inter Starter

When reflecting on last year’s Scudetto loss to Napoli, one particular image often comes to mind: the penalty conceded by Bisseck during the crucial Inter-Lazio match. That encounter against the Biancocelesti seemed destined for victory, with the Nerazzurri sensationally poised to reclaim the top spot. However, the German’s unfortunate handball shattered those aspirations. This incident was among a series of errors he made in the prior season, leading some to speculate he might depart in the summer. Yet, with coach Chivu, everything took a dramatic turn.

Bisseck Relaunched: A Defensive Pillar Against Fiorentina

Under Chivu’s guidance, Bisseck has experienced a significant resurgence. The defender has successfully carved out a regular place in the squad, essentially becoming a consistent starter as the season has progressed. Since the fifteenth game week, he has played 14 matches from the first minute. He now typically operates on the right side of the defense, allowing Akanji to shift into a central role. His concentration, widely considered his biggest weakness last year, has markedly improved, as has his overall defensive performance. He proved pivotal on multiple occasions in Florence, making decisive interventions to thwart dangerous opportunities, and even potential goals, for Fiorentina. Generally, excluding the most recent Sunday fixture, the German has consistently elevated his performance and is demonstrating his capabilities more and more. His inherent potential was always recognized, but this season it is truly blossoming, and he has clearly not yet reached his full limit. With his impressive physicality, valuable offensive contributions, and enhanced defensive acumen, Bisseck is steadily, and most deservedly, cementing his place as a key starter for Inter.
