In an interview with `Corriere dello Sport`, former Juventus player Alessandro Birindelli spoke about Igor Tudor`s performance on the Bianconeri bench in these first weeks of work: “He brought back enthusiasm, a soul that was a bit lost, helping the team to become more concrete. Maybe it`s less beautiful, but it`s direct. When I say less beautiful compared to the previous style, I think that everything else is missing. It gave a different impression, with the build-up play from the back, with this insistent possession. To tell you the truth, for me in some matches it was also exciting. Too often, however, it lacked continuity in the offensive phase, it created little, it had become sterile.”
About Tudor`s Juventus identity? “It reflects a bit of that Juventus feeling, we have seen it from the first days. So far it has been a successful combination, I hope he finishes this job in the best way. He could be a correct and right profile for the future as well. Juventus` season? I believe that Juventus can reach the Champions League, they will fight hard until the end. It is difficult to dislodge them, they have found balance and performance. Looking ahead, two or three signings are needed.”
Regarding Vlahovic? “He doesn`t drive me crazy, he would need someone else to take responsibility away from him, because I don`t think he can handle the entire attack on his own, but he is functional for a two-man attack. Too often he has been left alone: a little bit because of his own demerit, but also because he was abandoned by the team.”
