Baroni Praises Lazio’s Response After Europa League Exit

Lazio aimed to put their Europa League elimination by Bodo Glimt behind them and achieved this in the best possible way by securing a victory at Genoa`s notoriously difficult ground, thereby boosting their chances for a spot in the Champions League.

Coach Marco Baroni expressed his satisfaction: “I am truly happy because the boys delivered an excellent performance against a tough opponent like Vieira`s team. I must compliment the team for playing the right game against a very tricky side at home. Watching the players during the week, I knew they would react, and they showed it on the pitch. We shouldn`t dismiss the Bodo incident; we were aware we had played a great tournament. This must be a starting point, and from today, we must approach every game we have left seriously to remain in Europe.”

“The team has shown throughout the season that they deserve it,” Baroni stressed, highlighting the mental aspect. “Mentally, we must focus on just one thing: concentrating on one game at a time to secure access to European competitions. Rumors don`t bother me. I am focused on the work we have done and what my team is doing; we have come this far together on a very interesting path.”

He concluded by stating, “Lazio also displayed good football; now we are just thinking day by day and about the next match.”
