Bargiggia a RBN: “La Juve cerca 2/3 attaccanti per la prossima stagione e occhio a Zirkzee”

The decision by Juventus to extend Arek Milik`s contract has sparked debate, primarily because few expected the relationship to continue. Milik has had a significantly challenging year and the exact duration of his absence from the field remains uncertain. Following the renewal, his initial comments were `The journey continues. I can`t wait to get back on the field!` – a mild statement considering his last appearance dates back to May 2024.

Transfer expert Paolo Bargiggia, a guest on RBN Cafè this morning, offered a straightforward explanation for this move. He stated that despite Milik`s relatively high gross salary, estimated around 5 million euros, the renewal allows Juventus to mitigate the impact on the current balance sheet by spreading the cost over two seasons. He added that Milik is almost certain to be placed on the transfer market this summer, with the extra year on his contract potentially enhancing his value to a potential buyer. According to Bargiggia, this strategy helps the club`s financial accounts for the current period, but he does not envision Milik being part of the team`s future plans.

Bargiggia revealed that Juventus is actively seeking 2 to 3 new forwards: a starting central striker, a capable backup, and an additional winger. He anticipates that the primary investment will be directed towards securing the main central forward, with subsequent operations likely involving loan swaps for the backup and opportunistic signings for the winger position. He believes this interpretation accurately reflects the current situation.

Regarding Douglas Luiz, Bargiggia commented that a move was unlikely regardless of recent social media activity. He mentioned that Luiz is expected to be on the market and has a good rapport with Premier League clubs. While Juventus would ideally sell him for around 40 million euros, they would also consider a loan swap for a more interesting player in their squad. As an example, Bargiggia suggested a potential loan swap involving Zirkzee with Manchester United.
