Davide Ballardini, a coach who has previously managed teams such as Genoa, Bologna, Palermo, and Sassuolo, recently spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Among his remarks, he mentioned Empoli`s recent elimination of Juventus from the Coppa Italia.
Ballardini commented: “They had a great performance in the Coppa Italia against Juventus, an impressive game. They also played well in Genoa, where they perhaps deserved more than a draw, and especially in Como, where they missed out on three points only due to bad luck and imprecise finishing from their forwards.”
He added, “In my opinion, such a negative streak cannot last forever. I expect them to perform better moving forward because they have a good squad and have recently been hampered by injuries, starting with the match against Cagliari on Sunday.”
