When Bentancur and Rabiot together, Juventus struggles. That’s what all Juve fans can agree on.
Both players have very similar characteristics, they don’t offer any solutions with the ball whether when it comes to passes, shots, holding the ball or even in terms of getting into the box to help the attack.
Despite their physical strength, it’s obvious that both Rodrigo and Adrien lack personality, they’re too shy, reckless and too superficial sometimes.
They lose the ball a lot, they missplace too many passes, and under pressure they’re a liability for the Juve midfield.
Since the beginning of the season, Bentancur and Rabiot started 12 games together.
Juve won just 5 of those games, drawing 3 times and losing 4 times, in important games against Barcelona, Inter, Napoli and Porto.
In those 12 games, Juve managed to score only 15 goals while they conceded 13 goals, keeping a clean sheet only in 2 occasions.

Juve certainly played some good games with the duo on the pitch, but most of the time, they really struggled, and the numbers speak for themselves.
Any of them can do well playing alongside Arthur, as we’ve already seen this season, but having both of them together on the pitch is a waste of space, as none of them has what it takes to manage the game and help the team build up the play.
Of course, Juve’s problems can’t be summed up in the Bentancur-Rabiot partnership, but it’s obvious at this point that this duo doesn’t work, and Pirlo needs to stop using it.
