Antonio Paganin, speaking on TMW Radio, offered his perspective on yesterday`s match between Inter and Barcelona. He described a game that, according to his account, concluded 4-3 in favor of Inter after 120 minutes.
Discussing the team`s performance, Davide Frattesi (whom he credited with scoring the decisive goal), and coach Simone Inzaghi, Paganin stated:
“Inter was clearly facing physical difficulties by the end, but they showed immense heart and simply refused to quit – it was incredible. They seemed on the verge of collapse but stayed resilient, endured, and Sommer made two fantastic saves against Yamal. With that level of determination, you secure the win 90 times out of a hundred.”
Regarding Frattesi, he added:
“This past winter, it appeared he might transfer to Roma to gain more playing time. However, when you are part of Inter, it`s crucial to grasp the significance of your position. While aspirations and ambitions are valid, a player`s career path involves various choices. Personally, I would advise him to remain, as I consider him a vital asset. Making an impact when coming on as a substitute is challenging, and that`s something he excels at.”
Addressing whether Inzaghi is currently Italy`s top coach, Paganin replied:
“Not strictly yes or no. What is undeniable is that reaching two Champions League finals in three years is certainly no minor achievement. His management has seen considerable improvement; he`s now operating with a different mindset. Although there are other coaches I might personally favor, Inzaghi has undoubtedly developed into the stature of a great manager.”
