Cagliari midfielder Alessandro Deiola has renewed his contract, committing to the club until June 30, 2029. Born in San Gavino, near Cagliari, Deiola grew up with the Cagliari jersey. He gained experience across Italy, including spells at Tuttocuoio in Tuscany, Spezia, Parma, and Lecce. Since 2021, he has been a key player for his beloved Cagliari and now serves as vice-captain.
“This renewal fills me with pride,” Deiola stated. “I am happy for what this jersey represents, for the dream I had as a child. Playing for these colors is an honor and a great responsibility. I will always give my all for Cagliari and to help the team reach the highest possible level. I pursued this dream, and I continue to work hard, always trying to be available and do my best.”
Reflecting on memorable moments, Deiola recalled, “Especially my first goal for Cagliari under the Nord stand, during my league debut. Even today, thinking about it gives me chills.”
Among the difficult times, he mentioned “the disappointment in Venice. But we immediately bounced back, bringing smiles back to our fans, which was our duty. Overall, in recent years, there have been more happy moments. Many times we have overcome difficulties together. I also think of the incredible survival in the league last season. My hope for the future is to continue bringing joy to ourselves and our fans, who truly deserve it.”
