The upcoming FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 14th, beginning with a match between Lionel Messi`s Inter Miami and Al Ahly. Former Argentina international and renowned striker, Sergio Agüero, shared his views on the tournament during an interview with the official FIFA website.
Agüero highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “It`s a fresh format, and every player involved will undoubtedly aspire to win it. Their primary mission will be to make history by becoming the first team to claim this trophy. It`s always special to be among the pioneers, to be the inaugural champion of the Club World Cup.”
Commenting on the prospects of the South American teams competing, the Argentine offered his insight: “This represents an opportunity for us to demonstrate our characteristic South American mindset and competitive spirit on the international stage. I expect them to approach these matches with intensity and fight; it`s a natural trait for South Americans. While it certainly won`t be an easy challenge, I am confident they will give their absolute best effort to advance as far as possible in the competition.”
