During the “Report” television program`s segment investigating Inter Milan`s financial situation, interviewer Daniele Autieri spoke with Italy`s Sport Minister, Andrea Abodi.
Autieri questioned Abodi regarding a comment made by Lazio President Claudio Lotito, who is also part of the ruling majority. Lotito had stated that teams in Italy with €700 million in debt (referring implicitly to Inter) have won the championship.
Minister Abodi responded, “That`s an opinion that needs to be verified by facts. This commission must not be severe, but just, and it must also put you [reporters] in a position to tell things as they are.”
Asked whether the upcoming reforms would include interventions on the financial equilibrium of the football system,
Abodi replied, “We are definitively considering the figures we want to be highly qualified and very independent [to oversee this].
